The Analytic view measure can be selected from one table. calculation view comes in the picture when there is need of more fact table. The calculation view supports complex calculation.

No Data Base Tables at the Database Foundation

Base column tables, Attribute Views and Analytic views are not allowed at the data foundation. All tables must be changed to use the Dimension Calculation views. All Fact tables can be added and used in Calculation View.

Calculation views for combining multiple fact tables

calculation views can be used to combine measures from more than one fact table, and they do not have the limitations of such views. You can use multiple layers of calculation logics while creating a calculation view. You can only use one object in the projection node.

If you want to create more than one table, use separate projections. Projection nodes are used to convert tables. You can open the information modeler and make the calculation view by using tables.

Calc View with More Semantic

The Calc View has the option to contain more semantic, which is different from a SQL View. The CalcView does the aggregation automatically and always returns the summary. The individual records are returned in a SQL View.

A named calculation in the DSV is more efficient than a calculated member in a cube. The members are calculated at query time. The data type of the column is determined by the data type of the expression.

The column is added to the table if the provider does not find any errors. Columns that are referenced in the expression should not be qualified by the table name. To refer to the column in a table as SaleAmount or Sales.
