Managing Phishing in Anti-Spam Policies

Anti-spam polices will deliver bulk email messages to the user's Junk Email folder if they choose to. You can create and modify anti-spam policies to fight high confidence and bulk email messages. See the Configure anti-spam policies in EOP for more information.

Can junk mail go into a quarantine state?

Junk mail can go into a Quarantine state if it is not safe to receive it. You can either move Quarantined messages to your inbox or remove them. The messages will not be accessible after two weeks.

Remarks on the Quarantine

There is no need to remove your messages from the Quarantine. The Quarantine will automatically remove a message after 30 days if you don't release it. If you look at the messages in your Quarantine location, you will not need to do anything. The messages will be deleted when they are sent.

Messages in the QuaSar for Longer Time

Messages can be kept in the quasar for longer than the policy says. Messages that have expired are not recoverable. See the Configure anti-spam policies in EOP for more information.

Exchange Online and EOP PowerShell Support for the Classification of Bulk or Junk Emails

If the user chooses to have the messages classified as junk or bulk email delivered to their mailbox, they will be moved to the Junk Email folder. You can set anti-spam policies to block bulk email messages. See the Configure anti-spam policies in EOP for more information.

Exchange Online and EOP PowerShell have the Get-QuarantineMessage and Release-QuarantineMessage cmdlets that can be used to find and release quarantined messages. Wildcards aren't supported in the portal. When searching for a sender, you need to specify the full email address.

Microsoft Exchange Online - A Security Portal for Email Quarantine

The email Quarantine process is still an essential part of any email service. Exchange Online is a world-class product and the Quarantine portal works well, however the current iteration of the portal falls short in user experience and performance. The Microsoft 365 Security portal can be used to train users on how to comb through their Quarantine queue for missing items.

Support staff should expect frustration from many users, even if a more tech- savvy user is able to navigate the portal. Microsoft Exchange Online is built and configured according to best practices, which makes it work well. The admin experience around email sucks, and some aspects of the Exchange Online user experience are less than pleasant.

Quarantine: A server for junk mail

Quarantine. Junk mail can go into a Quarantine state if it is not safe to receive it. You can either move Quarantined messages to your inbox or remove them.

The messages will not be accessible after two weeks. The Quarantine is a server where email messages that are suspected to be junk mail are temporarily stored so that they can be reviewed and retrieved if necessary. System administrators can search for messages on a user's behalf.

Complimenting Email

The important thing to know is that email that is not compliant is still delivered. Email will still flow from email server even if the email arrives at its final destination or not.

Recovering Messages from Incomplete Data

To locate a message you want to recover, you can create a custom form that shows the original sender and recipients in the message view. To see the original sender in the mail, you must use the Configure Outlook feature.

Quarantine Release

Quarantine release should be easy to do. It can take a while to sort out the mail. The previous structure was intended to release emails in a serialized approach but will now be replaced with a parallel form, which will help streamline the process and save your SecOps team valuable time.

The message ID

The globally unique identifier of the message is called the message ID. The details flyout pane shows the message ID value if you select it. The message trace can be used to find messages.

Message Blocking in the Quasar Group

You can set policies and settings to block messages from being sent to and from your organization. You can assign admin privileges to specific users to help them manage messages in a Quarantine. You can create a quarantine by setting up policies and settings in the admin console.

You can assign admin privileges to specific users to access and manage email messages. You can choose toQuarantine messages that match the configuration criteria or choose theQuarantine for the selected messages. You can choose to notify internal senders when their outbound and internal-sending messages are not allowed.

When available, source and matched string are only displayed. Some messages may not display a rule because of the best effort made to display it. Some messages are rejected because they are too good to be true.

If you chose the "put junk in administrative quark" option in your settings, those messages will not be routed to the admin quark. The bulk action option becomes available when you begin selecting messages. You can deny or approve all messages in the selected search results using bulk action, unlike the Select All box, which only applies to messages in your current view.

Threat Response Auto-Pull

Email can be a lot of things. Malicious emails can be used to send false negatives and malicious emails can be used to poison the sender. Compliance violations in emails are a few examples of unwanted email.

Email security teams are often tasked with email analysis and cleaning up to reduce threat exposure. When ten emails or more are involved, the time requirements can quickly add up, and email quarantining one message may not require much work. Threat Response Auto-Pull gives you the context you need to make informed decisions.
