The Structure of Accounts Required for the BARS Code

The above and prescribed option includes accounts which are not valid for reporting and are not valid for the BARS account codes. Thescribed option only lists valid account codes. The chart of accounts varies in the number of digits required for account codes.

The expenditure or expense accounts are presented without codes. The BARS Manual has object codes. The reporting at the subobject level is not required.

A governmental accounting system should be funded.
