Super PACs
A super PAC is similar to a political action committee. A super PAC buys television, radio, and print advertisements to promote their cause and to defeat candidates for federal office. There are two types of super PACs.
Candidates and traditional candidate committees can accept money from individuals. The primary election is in the spring and the general election in November. They can take in a maximum of $5,600 a year, split equally between the primary and general election.
The dividing line between superPACs and campaigns
The dividing line between super PACs and campaigns is murky. The two most dedicated to supporting the Romney and Obama campaigns are run by former aides to the president.
Super PACs: Independent Political Committee Finance
Super PACs are independent expenditure-only political committees that may receive unlimited contributions from individuals, corporations, labor unions and other political action committees for the purpose of financing independent expenditures and other independent political activity. The committee will not use those funds to make contributions to federal candidates or committees.
The New SuperPAC: A Sign that the Former President Will Not Go away
The former president is kicking off the year with more than $30 million in the coffers of his new super PAC, Save America, a sign that he will not go away anytime soon.
Jesse Binnall: The American People Are Not Listening
The American people are not getting the truth, the Rule of Law or even-handed accountability. Americans are fed up with the corruption in government and the snobbery of the political class. Jesse Binnall is an Alexandria, Va. based attorney who was involved in the election challenge.
Michael Flynn, the former national security adviser who was pardoned by then- President Donald Trump after he lied to the FBI, was also represented by Powell and Binnall. The former president is blamed by several leaders for inciting the violence that occurred in the nation's capitol on January 6. The trial is expected to start in February.
Super PACs and the Democratic Party
In Democratic primary politics, Super PACs have become toxic, with everyone from Joe Biden to Cory Booker trying to cut outside efforts to back their campaigns. Candidates have limited ability to stop a super PAC from doing their work because the groups are by nature unauthorized.
America First: The "one approved outside non-campaign group"
America First was called the "one approved outside non-campaign group" by the Trump campaign. The campaign did not respond to the question if the statement still stands or if Preserve America is also an approved outside group.
Hawley, a Senator from New Jersey
Mr. Hawley, who is seen as a potential candidate for the Republican presidential nomination in four years, was the first senator to agree to join the House in challenging the election results.
The Super PAC Dinner
The Super PAC is for larger companies. The minimum company size is $10 million. Super PACs meet three times a year.
The annual fees are for two people. All Super PAC members are members of the CEO Club. The dinner will be at Mike and Gayle's home.
