Outlook Voice Access Numbers

Two types of users can call in to an Outlook Voice Access number. Directory searches for users are only possible when an unauthenticated user calls into an Outlook Voice Access number. Those who input their PIN can perform directory searches, listen to email, calendar items, and voice mail, and search their personal contacts, all without having to sign in to their mailbox.

They can transfer calls to a user or ring the user's extension when they are searching for a user in the directory. An Outlook Voice Access user can access their email by calling an Outlook Voice Access number from a telephone. The voice prompt says "Welcome"

Voicemail: A Digital Environment

Voicemail is a form of communication. When you dial someone and they are not there, you record a voice message into a digital mailbox and it is then retrieved by the owner of the mailbox. All systems are the same, despite the fact that voicemail has advanced in the digital age.

Adding UC to the mix can take voicemail to a whole new level. Listening to messages was sequential in older systems. Messages are stored on a system until they are retrieved.

Analogue voicemail systems are basically basic recorders. The packets that are used in the voicemail systems hold any information that can be transmitted. Learn about the features of a voicemail system.

Voicemail system functions vary. voicemail systems should support custom greetings, alternative greetings, and busy greetings, as well as ideally supporting the ability to schedule greetings with an expiration reminder. It's helpful for out-of-office greetings.

Voicemail systems should have the ability to archive and deletion. The ability to hear a message envelope and recall a voicemail are two additional features that are nice to have. Since voicemail messages are now data packets, they are now digital.

Using Exchange Online PowerShell to Automate Voice and Email Messaging

The email and voice mail systems are often managed by messaging administrators. Email and voice mail are hosted on separate server and are located in separate mailboxes. Users can access their messages through the desktop or the phone.

Online administrators can combine voice messaging and email messaging into one mailbox so that their users can read or listen to their voice mail messages in their Inbox or by using Outlook Voice Access from any telephone, if they choose to do so. The UM uses a user's mailbox to store both email and voice mail. The Play on Phone feature allows users to play voice messages over the phone.

If the user works in an office cubicle, is using a public computer that isn't enabled for multimedia, or is listening to a voice message that's confidential, they might not want to or can't listen to a voice message through computer speakers. They can use any telephone, including a home, office or mobile phone. The voice mail form has an audio notes field.

The notes field is displayed in the reading pane when users preview a voice message or in a separate window when they open the voice message. If users aren't enabled for UM, or if a supported email client isn't installed on the client computer, they view voice messages as email attachments, and the voice mail form isn't available. Outlook users can set up several voice mail options for UM.

The user can record personal greetings, make missed calls, and play voice mail on the phone. The message waiting indicator is a feature in most legacy voice mail systems and can be used to indicate the existence of a new message. The user's mailbox can be used to enable or disabling the message waiting indicator.
