What Is Paypal Payments Standard?
PayPal Payments
You can make a payment for a single item purchase or a full shopping cart. You can also create payment buttons to accept donations, set up a subscription or automate billing. Tracking inventory, shipping fees and taxes, and getting profit and loss information are some of the things that can be included in your payment button.
You can completely change the checkout page with advanced options. You need a PayPal Business or PayPal Premier account to create payment buttons. There are no setup fees or cancellation fees.
Per-transaction fees are shown in the information about the merchant fees. Pay with payment buttons in any country where PayPal is accepted. You can convert a currency balance into multiple currency balances in your account.
PayPal and the Card-topping Method
Even if you don't have a PayPal account, you can pay with a card. Users need to create a PayPal account in order to check out. Both services are detailed on the merchant page.
A Note on Using PayPal to Update Your Button Code
You can set the return URL on each transaction to make sure that the value you have stored on PayPal is not affected. You might want to return the payer's browser to a URL that is specific to that payer, perhaps with a session ID or other transaction-related data included in the URL. Do not write button code yourself.
The hosted_button_id variable is generated by PayPal. If you use your own value, results are not predictable. You should not write code for saved buttons.
The code that PayPal creates is always used. Adding hidden variables to the generated code for saved buttons will not affect the transaction amount. You can make saved buttons more interesting with automatic fill-out variables.
You can accept payments from buyers without having to have a PayPal account. Buyers don't re-enter information that is stored on PayPal when they check out by paying with the online payment service. It is your advantage to encourage repeat buyers to sign up for a PayPal account.
The address shown to the payer is not the one the person wants to see. If the address is invalid, or if the address is not included, no address is shown. The example button code is not publicly available.
PayPal Express Checkout
The default choice for the PayPal Website Payments Standard is signing in, but the option to use the Express Checkout can be more efficient for the users.
Paying for Instant Transfer with PayPal
If you plan ahead and instruct PayPal to pay out the funds you need a few days in advance of when you actually need them, you can avoid paying the Instant Transfer fee. You can get a business card from your bank.
The X-ray and the M2 interface
The buttons are limited, but they are quick and easy. The biggest issue with it is Guest Checkout, which allows non-PayPal account holders to pay with a credit card without creating an account.
