HD Voice: Advanced Calling
HD Voice is a subset of Advanced calling. If you are calling another subscriber of the company that has a phone that is HD Voice capable, the call will go through with increased fidelity.
Advanced Calling for Internet Users
Beginning December 8, Advanced calling on two different phones will allow customers to make and receive calls and initiate video calls over the internet. Advanced calling with wi-fi calling is an alternative to using the internet in the home, office or while traveling, and it is available for all of the major carriers.
Video Calls are Data Consumption
HD Voice is used to deliver the audio portion of a Video Call. The service also supports simultaneous calls and calls to conference. The technology is new, and so the limitations are explained by the company.
HD Voice and Video calling only work when both people are in the same areand both have a VoLTE-enabled phone from the same company. The existing voice network will be used for calls between phones that do not support VoLTE and phones that do. HD Voice calls are billed as standard voice minutes, but video calls will be billed as data usage, with a typical one-minute video call consuming about 6 to 8 MB of data.

The network is fast
The network is fast. The amount of data on 3G will last longer than on the other network. It eats through data much faster when it is on the fast track. If you have access to the internet, you can turn off cellular data for non-essential apps.

Big Red users with Advanced calling on the S6 and S6 Edge will be able to make and receive calls over the internet, even if they already have the phone app. All calls made over the internet in the US will be free, however calls made to numbers outside the US will be charged.
