Some themes have a light and dark mode. Yahoo Mail has a new set of emoji and stationery options for those who care about such things. Yahoo is changing its product offerings, and one of the biggest changes is the elimination of Ad Free Mail.
Yahoo Mail Pro will have no ads. Yahoo Mail Pro will cost $34.99 a year, which is cheaper than Ad Free Mail. Yahoo Mail Pro is a monthly option that costs $3.49 a month.
You have to download the Yahoo Mail app to use the mobile-only option. Yahoo has made Mail more accessible to those with low vision and hard-of-hearing, with better light-sensitivity and voice over screen reader compatibility. There are also full keyboard navigation and layouts with high magnification.
Google Hangouts is the Winner
The user-friendly Google Hangouts pane is below your labels. The chat icon is small and can be missed if you look at it from the left. The email is secured behind a two-step verification and the virus scanning program blocks harmful content if you choose to.
All Yahoo Mail connections are used with encryption by default. Gmail has some annoying oversights like the tiny compose window, the drab interface, and the inability to retrieve deleted emails after 30 days. Yahoo has ads and lacks a smart folder facility.
Organizing Your Email
There are lots of options for how to layout your email. You can change the spacing of your inbox, align your messages differently, and use different colors and levels of brightness to make your screen more visible. Both platforms have a lot in common.
You can either mark them as important or mark them with a star. You can sort your inbox. You can archive or mark messages as junk.
You can mark messages as read or unread. Yahoo Mail functions with the folder system you might recognize from Outlook. Each folder has a separate inbox that you can stay organized in.
Yahoo Mail Pro
The rebuilt front-end tech stack reduces its Javascript andCSS footprint by 50 percent, which will result in Yahoo Mail launching faster, using less bandwidth, and reducing memory used by the browser. Ad Free Mail was discontinued and replaced with a new plan called Yahoo Mail Pro. Yahoo Mail Pro will have no ads and priority customer support.
