Getting the Most from Your Music

If possible, get a microphone. Your laptop microphone is fine, but they are not usually designed to pick up a lot of base. External microphones are better than your in-house one.

To avoid audio lag and get the best results, you should only share the audio with the person playing the music. A microphone etiquette would allow all the people not involved in making music to turn off their microphone when music is being played. You can play your music from the desktop application of your phone, even if you want to have background music during your game night or just show your friend your new Spotify playlist.

Tabs at the top of Share screen

There are tabs at the top of the Share screen. If you choose the Advanced tab, you can choose to share your computer sound and not your screen, but there is a box you have to hit.

Enhancing the Audio of a Meeting

Hearing other people in a meeting can be difficult. A microphone or audio may not be of the highest quality. You might hear something that is not normal.

Background noises from inside or outside the house can disrupt a meeting. There are a few ways to enhance your audio. You can test your speakers and microphone before a meeting to see if they are good.

You can change the settings to suppress background noise. You can also limit the sound of the meeting. Lance Whitney is a former IT professional who is now a technology writer.

If there is a red slash over the icon, then you are being muted during the meeting. Click on the microphone icon again to unmute yourself. The red-colored icon will be gone.

If you are not in a meeting, open the desktop app, click on the gear icon near the top of the right and then select the Audio tab from the left pane. You can see a speaker icon in the top left corner of the screen if you tap the screen during a meeting. If it shows that the speaker is disabled, you can enable it.

If you can't solve the audio problem and you can't use audio in other applications, then there is a high chance that the application is malfunctioning. Simply close the application and start over. If you are having audio issues in your meetings and you can't seem to get anything to work, then you should restart your device.

If the device is restart, you can try to connect to the meeting by launching the device again. You should be able to use the program without audio issues. The best experience is possible with the desktop and mobile apps of Zoom.
