The Hand tool for image enlargement
The zoom tool can be used to enlarge an image. The first option is called auto-resize window. It's disabled by default.

To use the Magnetic Lasso tool, you have to click on the edge of the object you want to start with, and then follow it with the mouse. The Magnetic Lasso tool will snap to the edge of the object. You can click points as you go, but you can also make the selection without setting any more points.
Click on the first point you created to complete the selection. You can choose to use a lasso tool or a rectangular marquee when selecting the object selection tool. You can choose between the two in the Options Bar.
