It’s seriously like pulling teeth to get me to decide on a restaurant when I go out on the weekend.
Just ask my poor boyfriend
– I over-analyze, I change my mind, I weigh the pros and cons, I have to visualize myself tasting the food at each restaurant (Like, you think I’m kidding, but I’m not!)…
And all that stuff is great if, you know, picking a restaurant was a life or death decision. But what to wear in the morning? Or what to pack for lunch? NOT such a big deal.
Sometimes it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by all the opportunities and choices presented to us on a daily basis.
It feels like we are caught in a twister of swirling options and we somehow have to grasp for the right choice surrounded by this very confusing fog.
But what if we could learn to fully harness the power of our choices to grow in whichever direction
Imagine how much more time you could save in the morning alone! Those are precious minutes you could be sleeping in, amiright?
I’ve learned that powerful, dream-creating people revel in their ability to take action and make soul-filled and deliberate choices.
So today I’m excited to teach you how to develop a plan to conquer choice overwhelm once and for all. No more enie-meenie-miney-moe. If you find yourself freezing up or freaking out over the choices you need to make, these next two posts will share with you my surefire methods for making choices that resonate with your soul.
Sometimes us drama queens can get SO caught up in our negative thoughts, that we end up making life harder for ourselves in the process. You feel like ALL you can do is complain, moan and worry about something, only to realize that the simple solution was right in front of your nose the entire time.
The same exact thing can happen to the role that
plays in our lives.
We all want to be happy, right? The pursuit of happiness is a lifelong goal, and many of us would do just about anything to get a glimpse of it.
But that’s the thing – the “pursuit of happiness” isn’t a pursuit at all! I challenge you to retreat from happiness, starting today.
Because Happiness has been in front of your nose this entire time.
We seek to share it with others, we relish in it, we are made of it, and we want more of it. To give and receive love – it’s the best feeling in the world.
But what does love
to you? How do you feel it; how do you show it?
For me, it’s the act of giving and receiving
. I picture it like this: Remember when you were a kid and you would spin your straw REALLY FAST in your chocolate milk until you created a mini tornado in your cup? Love is just like that. It’s giving and receiving in a continuous circle, until you get so caught up in it, that you BECOME it. You realize that you ARE love; A tornado of pure, positive energy.
That idea is the exact inspiration behind the Soultiply logo. A sacred circle. Giving and receiving all wrapped into one.
I just love that idea!
But I find this interesting…when most people are asked,
“What do you love?”
oftentimes they name only
I love my mother.
I love my brand new puppy.
I love my house.
We know the miraculous power of love, that’s a given. So why don’t we automatically extend these feelings to our non-physical ideas and beliefs in just the same way? Why don’t we make more of an effort to give love to our dreams or to our obstacles? What if we loved the things that don’t yet exist with just as much passion as we do our family and friends?
What would become possible?
I feel like a little kid on my birthday…May’s Monthly Mantra & Challenge was an experience I’ve just been bursting to share.
Never heard of a Monthly Mantra before? Check out
to learn the ins and outs.
May’s Monthly Mantra was “I give you my heart & soul, so that Universal compassion might heal us both”, but the Challenge was the real kicker: “Set a giving goal for the Month of May. Keep track of every time you give and share your results at the end of the month.” So here goes nothing…
Are you “Giving Constipated?” Here’s some “Giving Activia”…
Giving is powerful stuff. So much so, that I challenge you to try to name an influential moment in your life that
associated with the concept of giving in some way, shape or form. Come up empty? I sure do – giving goes right to the core. Giving is relatively simple, yet leaves such a lasting impact. When my sister was little, she used to tear her food into smaller pieces so she would have “more” and then she would give half to me. She loved to share everything –Barbies, candy, stickers – you name it. It was just so simple to her. It amazes me how children can wholeheartedly embrace the simple logic of giving, yet it takes years of strength and energy to remind ourselves of this lesson as we get older.
Are you sitting back right now and thinking, “Brittanyyyyy…I know I
be in a giving mindset, but how? What’s the point?” Hey, I don’t blame you. Sometimes it’s just plain hard to give to others. Or maybe you’ve been out of the habit of giving for so long, that you’ve forgotten how to give and how simple it can actually be. Here are some surefire ways to get your giving gears in motion.
