There used to be a time in my life where if you asked me this question, my stomach would drop. I began to DESPISE anyone who ventured onto this dreaded topic. Usually I would stutter and stammer, trying desperately to sound casual, until eventually I would reply with the classic conversation-ending response,
It’s not that I hated that people were interested in my life – not at all! I was thankful to have friends and family who actually gave a damn about me and my endeavors. What I hated was how that question made
feel. I hated the fact that I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life. It was hard to hide behind that little question. Instead, it just made me realize how disappointed I was with myself and what my life had become.
Does this sound even a
Looking back on it, I realize that this phase of my life was one of the most CRUCIAL times that I have ever, or
ever experience. Although it felt like nothing was happening and I had no direction, this phase in my life set me up for everything that I would aspire to be in the future. And now I like to refer to this special phase as
The In-Between Time
I consider myself a lot of pretty impressive things – but an athlete is not one of them.
The only physical game I’ve ever won was dodge ball back in 5
grade. And to be honest, it’s mainly because the boys took each other out one by one, leaving me to win by default. I was a cheerleader in high school, but it was for the
cheerleading squad, which (I’m not gonna lie) was kinda known for being the less talented of the school cheerleaders. It was basically just glorified dancing, no tumbling knowledge required.
All this being said – I honor my body’s need for exercise.
And that’s what is great about exercise. You don’t have to have balance (I fall over just standing up sometimes, so good thing!), you don’t have to have speed, or any real skill to start. You can take it slow and build those qualities as you go – that’s the point.
There’s only ONE thing you
have to have
before you can start a workout program. It’s not bulging muscles or a firm booty – in fact, it’s not even something that you can see!
It’s the proper mindset.
Without a mindset that is focused and determined to stick with a workout plan, the only progress you’ll see is your stomach
to a larger size!
So how can we prepare our minds for a healthy exercise program? And most of all, how can we use our minds
while we exercise
to make the most of our workouts?
I have 4 mindful exercise tips that I am going to share with you today that will transform the way you view your workouts. These are workouts FOR THE SOUL.
You know what app I’ve been crushing on lately?
. Have you tried it?
If you love walking down memory lane, this app is pure gold. It goes through your most popular social media accounts and let’s you see what you posted 1 year ago, 2 years ago, and so on… (I have some posts that go back 7 years or more! Depends on how long you’ve been hooked to those precious social media accounts). It’s a beautiful little reminder of our life events and what we’ve chosen to share with our friends and followers.
But there are days when a reminder from the past can sting. When the present feels all too real.
And if you are currently embarking on a weight loss or body transformation journey, there’s nothing like looking at old pictures to stir up some unwanted emotions.
But it’s not worth our time and energy to get sucked into the past, to battle the comparisons of ourselves, or to even fathom the thought that these pictures are any sort of indicator of our worth.
So instead, I’ve developed two promises to myself, two main feelings that I refuse to feel when looking at pictures, and I hope by the end of this post, you’ll pledge the same.
I remember reading
when I was in 6
grade. Phew, what a quest! I knew it was just a story, but I remember my little middle school brain feeling a tiny bit overwhelmed by the journey.
And the funny thing is, I
sometimes feel overwhelmed when I look at my own little journeys in life. I’m no Bilbo Baggins, but once my brain realizes the grandeur of the task ahead of me, my eyes start to glaze over and my mind goes into spaz attack mode.
But I know that even the largest, most difficult of quests
be broken down into smaller chapters for success. Or, if you to write a blog, (as I just so happen to do!) smaller posts!
And with this, ladies and gentlemen, I will introduce to you the newest feature on the Soultiply blog – The Mind, Body, & Soultiply Quest!
Boys and Girls…I’ve just been smitten with the idea of showcasing a Sexy Soulmate Series here on the Soultiply Blog…and now it’s finally here!
Because I must admit, there is nothing I love more than talking about
being in love
. If you know me at all, you will know that I’m a diehard romantic through and through. I was the boy-crazy teenager growing up, the only sibling in my family who considered my latest crush a house-hold dinner conversation (my poor relatives!), and I spent a good amount of time wishing and hoping and praying that I would find my soulmate.
Through a process of trial and error (soulmates don’t always come easy!), I found my ONE and I haven’t looked back since.
Thankfully I have a very understanding and down-to-earth boyfriend, who doesn’t mind if I share all the beautiful details of our meeting and relationship here on Soultiply.
The Sexy Soulmate Series will be broken up into 4 Parts.
Each part will be an in-depth look into the relationship process and the actionable steps you can take to create a lasting relationship. Because people don’t tell you – it’s a journey. There will be ups (and Lord knows you will remember the downs!), but it’s worth it. Once you find your soulmate, you will wonder how your soul managed to live without its other half for so long.
